What you need to know about aligners ?

Are You A Candidate for Wearing Clear Aligners? Then we think you’re on the right track to creating the smile of your dreams!

12 Facts

As the team behind an orthodontic Clinic, you might think we’re a bit biased, and we probably are. But at the end of the day, we have dedicated our whole lives to the perfect smile! We also believe in being realistic, so here are 12 things you need to know in order to make an informed decision about aligners.

1. Tooth orientation with aligners is fast and efficient.
Many people think that the main difference between using Aligners and traditional ones is simply the aesthetic difference. While many patients love to opt for the almost invisible method of straightening their teeth, remember that this method is also faster! Most patients see visible results within 2–3 months.
2. You will most likely experience some discomfort.

Braces may look smooth and soft compared to metal braces, but you may still experience some discomfort. Some people report discomfort and others do not. Smiles and pain tolerance vary from person to person.

3. Your teeth may feel loose.

Many patients who use maskers report that their teeth feel loose when they have them removed. This is completely normal, as your teeth need to loosen to move into their new positions.

4. Aligners are produced to order.

We work together to custom design every element of the masks for your mouth. After scanning your mouth with our state-of-the-art scanner, our lab creates a series of masks that you will change every two weeks.

5. You may miss eating as usual.

Your braces are supposed to last 22 hours a day, so you’ll need to fit all your food and drinks (not water) into two hours. Some people say they miss slowly sipping their morning coffee or evening wine, but others are also excited to see how eliminating constant eating can affect shedding extra pounds.

6. You will become a Tooth Brushing Expert

Whenever you take your masks out to eat or drink, you should brush and floss before putting them back on. The last thing you want is for food debris to get stuck between your masks and your teeth, as it’s unpleasant and also bad for your teeth!

7. However, it's a big part of your masker treatment, so we recommend having spare toothbrushes everywhere: one in the car, one on your desk at work, one in your purse, etc.

We know, we know… We’ve talked a lot about brushing our teeth. However, it’s a big part of your masker treatment, so we recommend having spare toothbrushes everywhere: one in the car, one on your desk at work, one in your purse or purse, etc. It will be worth it!

8. Aligners cost you the same as driving with the traditional method.

For most people, cost is a concern. Many assume that aligner treatment, which they perceive as superior or more modern, will be more expensive. This is not what I should worry about! At FinSmile, we want you to make your own decision on what best suits your needs, comfort level, and happiness. At FinSmile, we want you to make your own decision on what best suits your needs, comfort level, and happiness.

9. You may not like removing your masks in public

Your aligners need to be securely fastened, so you may find it difficult to put them on and off – especially at first. Also, it may happen that they come out with a little saliva. In general, most patients find that they prefer to remove their masks in an inconspicuous location, such as in a bathroom.

10. You're never too old for Aligner Treatment!

Sometimes patients wonder if it’s “worth it” or if orthodontic treatment is only for teenagers. This cannot be true! The aligner treatment is great for everyone, from teenagers to the grandparents of those teenagers.

11. You will need to maintain it even after the treatment.

Just because you’ve finished your aligner treatment doesn’t mean you’re done with it for good. Patients must still undergo a maintenance treatment to ensure that they maintain their beautiful results for the long term.
